‘In a speech today at Sandia National Laboratories, U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu compared unchecked global warming to riding on the Titanic.<\/p>\n
\u201cLots of people see there\u2019s an iceberg ahead, but it takes a long time to turn the boat around,\u201d Chu said. \u201cIf we turn it now, we can mitigate the blow.\u201d<\/p>\n
To help turn the ship, Chu wants to expand work at the Department of Energy\u2019s national laboratories to include research on climate change and development of alternative energy.’<\/p>\n
